It's About Time

Time is a funny thing. Time is precious. Time passes. We don’t get it back. A lot of our time is spent working towards something we want or hope for in the future. Sometimes we get so concerned about where we want to go, that we don’t appreciate or enjoy where we are along the way.

It’s important to work hard. For a better future. But it’s also important to slow it down and not hurry through life as fast as we can.

Something’s gone wrong with this watch I’m wearing

It don’t work right; it must be tearing

Up cause it seem I never have time to

Go where I want or do what I want to do

Everyday is a race, and I’m always in last

I blame it on my watch cause it ticks too fast

Father time is always telling me

“Hurry up boy, you’re going to be late.”

It’s about time that I slow things down

Take a deep breath and enjoy the sound

Of this beautiful life singing all around me

Open my eyes and enjoy the scenery

No hurry, no worries; I don’t care if I’m late

It’s about time that I threw this watch away

Gonna do a little less of this running around

And do a little more of just slowing it down

It’s taken a while but I’m starting to see

I need to re-align my priorities

When my time comes to an end

I can’t wind the clock back up again

Gonna do what I can, leave the rest undone

Make time for work, and make time for fun
